“Not only is Gaby Borges a consummate actress, singer and dancer – she has a youthful exuberance and style that will resonate with many of today’s young Hispanics,” said Rick Alessandri, executive vice president of Enterprise Development, Univision Communications Inc. “As a company, we have always been at the forefront of partnering with talented personalities. Given we have been working with Gaby since age 9, we believe she is precisely the type of young talent that will continue our great tradition, and more importantly speak to today’s generation of young Latinas.”
Borges is best known from her roles in novelas “Eva Luna” and “Corazón Valiente” (Fearless Heart); and on
Sunday, December 23 at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT she will star as “Virginia” in the Spanish-language adaptation of the classic animated Christmas show, “Si Virginia, un Cuento Navideño” (Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus), also featuring the voices of Don Francisco, Ernesto Laguardia, Blanca Soto and Giselle Blondet. She received the Estrellas del Futuro award at the “Miami Life Awards” in 2012 for her role in “Eva Luna,” where she not only demonstrated incredible acting talents but also displayed her vocal abilities when she performed “Ave Maria” in the final episode. She first appeared on the Univision Network as part of a dance group on the longstanding variety show “Sábado Gigante” (Giant Saturday) and “Don Francisco Presenta” (Don Francisco Presents).
Borges’ family emigrated from Mexico 18 years ago and settled in Miami to begin a family. Gabriela and her sister Georgina reside in Miami with their parents Gabriela and Jorge.
