Keene Cross Country Impressive At Conn. College Invitational

NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Keene State College women's cross country team placed third overall at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday.  The Owl men were sixth.

Racing on the site of next month's NCAA Regional race, the KSC women outraced three top 25 teams, finishing ahead of No. 11 Tufts, No. 12 Oneonta State, and No. 19 Brandeis.

Carli Davis finished sixth overall in 21:47, while Sammy Goldsmith was 15th in 22:07.  Kait Wheeler was 18th in 22:20, Lindsay Szuch was 36th in 22:47, followed by Molly Schaefer (37th, 22:48), Katelyn Terry (66th, 23:28), and Kate Lynch (88th, 23:50).

Keene State's men's squad was paced by Hayden Patterson, who placed 18th on the 8K course in 25:50, followed by Ben Macdonald (33rd, 26:10), Iid Sheikh-Yusuf (34th, 26:10), Phillip Parent (40th, 26:20), Mark Rabasco (64th, 26:44, Matt Marchand (74th, 26:52), and Matt Dudley (126th, 27:33).

KSC is off until October 31, when the Owls will host the Little East Conference Championships.
