BANGOR, Maine - The Colby-Sawyer
women's tennis team ran its win streak to nine straight after Saturday's
9-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) East Division victory at
Husson.
The Chargers improve to 11-1 overall and 6-0 in NEAC
play. The team will stay in Maine to play at Colby at 9:00 a.m. and at
Thomas at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Husson drops to 5-2 overall and 4-2 in
conference play.
Colby-Saywer's Ashlyn Ramsay defeated Meridith Blessard 6-1, 6-1 on the one-line and Ashley Woodside cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Katie Pratt in No. 2 singles. Aislinn O'Connor defeated Charlotte Bednarz on the three-line 6-2 and 6-0. Evelyn Miller defeated Sarah Smith in No. 4 singles 6-0 and 6-1. Kelsey Pelletier lost to Maddy Gemerek in No. 5 singles 6-1 and 6-0. Elizabeth Adley lost to Lauren Blanchard on the six-line 6-1 and 6-0.
Ramsay
and Woodside handed Blessard and Pratt's first defeat in doubles action
8-1. O'Connor and Miller came away with an 8-0 win over Bednarz and
Dubay at No. 2 doubles, while Blanchard and Gemerek served Adley and
Pelletier an 8-0 loss.
