Henniker, N.H. – First-year attack Tara Bainbridge
would net a career-high six goals and dish out two assists leading the
New England College Pilgrims past the visiting Southern Vermont College
Mountaineers 19-4 in women's lacrosse action Sunday afternoon.
With the win the Pilgrims improve to 6-6 on the season, while the loss drops the Mountaineers to 2-6 overall.
PILGRIM LEADERS
In addition to Bainbridge the Pilgrims were led by Allison Granata who finished with five goals and
four assists and Alana Scott who put in four goals and dished out five assists.
Granata also led the Pilgrims with five ground balls and five draw controls.
MOUNTAINEER LEADERS
Leading
the way for Southern Vermont was Mel Orrell who finished with two goals
and two ground balls. Emily Lesure and Stephnay Ferreira each netted a
goal, while Laure Nesshoever finished with a team-best four draw
controls
FINAL COMPARISON
NEC finished the game out
shooting Southern Vermont 39-16 and held the 29-15 advantage in ground
balls, while the Mountaineers controlled the draw controls winning 14
compared to just 11 for the Pilgrims.
GOALTENDING
Picking up the win in net for NEC was Mackenzie Meegan who finished the day with four saves in 47 minutes of work.
In goal for Southern Vermont was Sydnee Julian who notched 15 saves in the loss.
WHAT'S NEXT
New
England College will return to action Tuesday, April 12 when they
travel to take on conference opponent Johnson State College.
Southern Vermont will hit the field again on Tuesday, April 12 when they travel to battle Bard College.
