New Hampshire Art Association's Summer Exhibit Travels to the Seacoast

Portsmouth, New Hampshire - Discover Portsmouth forges a new collaboration with New Hampshire Art Association (NHAA).  Earlier this summer the NHAA held a juried exhibition that was paired with a summer of musical performances presented by the New Hampshire Music Festival at the Plymouth State University Silver Center for the Arts. Artists were invited to show two pieces of fine art that express their talent and highest level of achievement.  Now this well-regarded art exhibition is travelling to the seacoast and will be hosted by Discover Portsmouth throughout September.

Professor Patricia Wild, fine arts department chair at the Lakes Region Community College, served as juror. According to Dr. Wild, this exhibit by members of the NH Art Association represents an impressive cross-section of the diversity of talent and imagery being produced by artists all over the state. “It's wonderful to see New Hampshire's artists pushing the boundaries of what is possible, both in their personal interests and ideas, and in the use of media. Finding and giving form to a personal voice and vision is the core of the art process, and is not for the feint of heart. I hope visitors will find themselves engaged and enriched by this exhibit.”
