PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Julia Donald and Rebecca Hu each netted a pair of goals Sunday afternoon as the visiting Dartmouth field hockey team defeated Providence, 5-2, at Lennon Family Field.

The Big Green improved to 4-5 overall with the win, while the Friars fall to 2-10.

Donald wasted little time in scoring her first of the afternoon and her seventh of the season, finding the back of the net just 23 seconds into the contest. She notched her second seven and a half minutes later to build the Dartmouth lead to a pair.

Hu scored her second and third goals of the weekend in the outing as well, netting her first of the day
in the 17th minute and her second in the 50th.

Eliza Becker had herself a solid day setting up her teammates, finishing the afternoon with three assists. All three went to different goal scorers.

In addition to the duo of Hu and Donald, Joanne Nazareth registered her first goal of 2015, scoring in the 44th minute to build the lead back to three at that point.

Providence saw its goals come from Natalie Mitchell in the 27th minute and Adrienne Houle in the 65th, but neither did much to damper what was a dominant Dartmouth team on the scoreboard from start to finish.

The home team may not have had the same scoring touch on Sunday as its opposition, but that was not for a lack of effort. The Friars outshot the Green and White, 12-9, and had a sizable advantage in penalty corners, 8-2.

However, Dartmouth junior goalkeeper Paige Duffy was up to the task, stopping three shots in picking up the win. At the other end of the field, Deidra Clymer made just the one save in dropping her six contest of the fall.

The Big Green are back in action next Sunday on the road at Yale, in a game that will be broadcast live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
