Olympians Rally for Jacoby

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Olympic gold-medal gymnasts Carly Patterson, Amanda Borden, Kerri Strug and USA Gymnastics Chairman Peter Vidmar attended a benefit dinner on Monday, Dec. 17, in support of Jacoby Miles. The $180,000 raised at the benefit, 'A Gift for Jacoby,' will help Miles, who was injured in a training accident earlier this year.

"Wow! The only way to describe it. What an outpouring of support from family, friends, coworkers, the community, local radio personalities, politicians, and the greater sporting community in the form of Olympic athletes from across the U.S.," was posted on the family's blog, http://getwelljacoby.blogspot.com/.

The event featured a dinner, meet and greet with Olympians, and an auction, which featured items from The Fierce FiveSM and 2008 Olympic all-around champion Nastia Liukin. In addition, Strug gave Miles an autographed pair of her vault slippers, and 2012 Olympic team gold-medalist Kyla Ross gave Miles an Olympic jacket signed by the Fierce Five.
