X Factor finalists recently had a holiday shoot. The three remaining to complete in the finale tonight are 13 year old Carly Rose Sonenclar, Fifth Harmony, a musical group and Tate Stevens, a inspiring Country Singer. You can watch the X Factor finale, where only one will win tonight at 8pm as they sing for the last time for your votes and tomorrow night's result show from 8-10pm on Fox.
About Carly Rose Sonenclar:
Carly Rose Sonenclar, 13, started singing when she was only 2-years-old - and Simon Cowell factored in her life even back then! "My parents have videotapes of me pretending to be on American Idol and my brother, Russell, made believe he was Simon with the British accent and everything," she says. When Carly was five, she started taking singing lessons and she adds, "I also had a karaoke machine and I would play with it with all of my friends. I sang a lot of Kelly Clarkson songs like 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' and 'Gone.'"
Carly, who is one of Britney Spears' Teens, first started singing professionally at age seven in the Off-Broadway show, The Night of the Hunter. Later, she appeared in the Broadway production of Les Miserables and in 2009, played Carrie in the national tour of Little House on the Prairie: The Musical. Carly's credits also include the Broadway show Wonderland and the PBS TV series The Electric Company.
Recently, the young singer has been pursuing her solo music career, performing at Birdland Jazz Club in New York and writing her own songs. She says, "I want to bring the soul back to pop. My record would be a mix of those two genres because I think that is something that is not really out there right now. I could fill that gap and appeal to a wide range of ages. I think I have the X factor because I have a uniquely mature sound and style for my age."
About Fifth Harmony:
Take five uber-talented teens from across the U.S., add the perfect chemistry, and an inspired idea and what do you get? New girl group Fifth Harmony (formerly LYLAS and 1432), who was assembled at the end of Boot Camp by THE X FACTOR powers-that-be. The fearsome fivesome features Dinah Jane Hansen (15, Santa Ana, CA), Lauren Jauregui (16, Miami, FL), Ally Brooke (19, San Antonio, TX), Normani Hamilton (16, Houston, TX) and Camila Cabello (15, Miami, FL).
Fifth Harmony is one of Simon Cowell's Groups, and though these girls' passion for singing might be the same, their backgrounds could not be more different. Dinah Jane began singing in her church at age four, while Camila didn't start until the seventh grade. Normani first performed as a dancer at age three and Lauren's public debut came in the fifth grade, where she sang the national anthem for her whole school. As for Ally, who was born premature at 1 pound 14 ounces, she simply says she came out singing!
The girls of Fifth Harmony each bring something unique to the table (or in this case the judges' table!), and their influences reflect that diversity. From crooners like Frank Sinatra and Josh Groban for Ally, to songstresses like Christina Aguilera and Whitney Houston for Dinah Jane, Lauren, and Normani. Does Fifth Harmony think they have what it takes to win? As Lauren puts it, "I really feel like we've blended really well for the short amount of time that we were given, and I think we're going to surprise a few people!"
About Tate Stevens:
Tate Stevens, which is a stage name (his given name is Stephen Eatinger), 37, began performing at the age of 4 when he'd hop up onstage with his father, who was a big influence on him. "I remember knowing that I wasn't scared and that I wanted to keep singing in front of people. I had so much fun," recalls the country singer, who is one of L.A. Reid's Over 25s. From there, Tate would perform at talent shows, oprys, church choir, and school choir before hitting the road right out of high school with his band, the Dixie Cadillacs, who opened for many of today's biggest country stars, including Sammy Kershaw and others.
"I am a true country artist," says Tate. "I do a little bit of everything in the country genre. I always throw in a little bit of my traditional country roots along with a country and rock edge to it. Of course, I love to do ballads as well. I feel that I can really connect to people through my music, regardless fast/slow/etc. I like my shows to be high energy and very entertaining. If I were to make an album today it would be modern country with a little bit of a traditional feel - a great combination of the high energy rockin' songs with some killer ballads as well. You know the kind that rip your heart out?"
On why he could win THE X FACTOR, Tate says, "To have the X factor you have to have the whole package. You have to be a great singer, performer, and all-around artist. I feel that I am that because of the many years of work and hours doing it I feel that it has made me the best at what I do."
Watch tonight at 8pm as these three remaining acts will Sing for your last votes in determining who will win this season of X Factor. The X Factor Finale result show will be tomorrow, Thursday night from 8 to 10pm.
