JOHNSON STATE INVITES PUBLIC TO REGISTER TEAMS ON MARCH 25 FOR MAY 3-4 AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY’S RELAY FOR LIFE

Johnson, Vermont - Johnson State College is inviting the public to participate in its American Cancer Society Relay for Life on May 3-4. Teams are invited to register from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 25
in the Stearns Performance Space.

JSC will join 520 colleges nationwide in registering teams and volunteers for the Relay for Life, an overnight, action-oriented, family-oriented, fun-filled event that raises funds and awareness to fight cancer. Teams are invited to walk, run, skip, somersault – or whatever moves them – around the JSC track during the Relay, scheduled for 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday to Saturday, May 3-4.

Free ice cream and free team registration will be provided to everyone who shows up in the first half hour at the March 25 event.

More than 4 million people in over 20 countries participate in Relay events each year. They camp out around a tracks all night and take turns walking or running the track. Participants and cancer survivors celebrate what they’ve overcome during the Survivors Lap and remember people lost to cancer, and honor people who have fought or are fighting cancer, during a luminaria ceremony.
