BURLINGTON, Vt. - The University of Vermont Athletics announced today a new partnership with Burlington Telecom, establishing them as the Official Telecom Partner of the Catamounts beginning in 2027 through a five-year agreement.
Burlington Telecom serves communities throughout Chittenden County, extending well beyond its roots in Burlington. Through Flight Fiber, BT's 100% fiber internet service, and Flight Mobile, its mobile phone service, Burlington Telecom provides locally supported connectivity to residents and businesses in Burlington, South Burlington, Winooski, Essex, Essex Junction, Shelburne, and Colchester. Built on a shared commitment to connectivity, innovation, and community engagement, the agreement will create new opportunities to engage Catamount fans and deepen Burlington Telecom's connection to communities it serves.
"We're excited to welcome Burlington Telecom as the first Official Telecom Partner of Vermont Athletics," said Jeff Schulman, Director of Athletics at the University of Vermont. "Partnerships like this allow us to continue providing exceptional opportunities for our student-athletes while expanding the reach and visibility of Catamount Athletics across our community. We're proud to have Burlington Telecom alongside us for many years to come."
The partnership represents a significant investment by Burlington Telecom in one of Vermont's most recognized institutions, while providing a new platform to introduce more Vermonters to BT, its expanding service area, and its growing lineup of connectivity services.
"For Burlington Telecom, this partnership is a natural fit," said Mike Callahan, General Manager of Burlington Telecom. "The University of Vermont is an important part of our community, and we're proud to support UVM Athletics and the incredible student-athletes who represent Vermont with hard work, dedication, and pride. As a locally operated company, Burlington Telecom is committed to investing in the communities we serve, and we believe partnerships like this help strengthen the place we call home. We're excited to be part of the energy and tradition that surrounds Catamount Athletics."
The agreement was facilitated by Vermont Sports Properties, the locally based team of Learfield – the leading media and technology company powering college athletics – which serves as the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Vermont Athletics and oversees all sponsorship arrangements on behalf of the Catamounts.
