Bella Thorne stars as the fashionable, adventurous, aspiring dancer CeCe Jones, one half of the comedic duo of young dancers trying to dance her way to stardom, in the new Disney Channel series "Shake It Up."

On the big screen, Thorne starred in the psychological thriller "Forget Me Not" and in the yet to be released coming-of-age story "Raspberry Magic."
She is also the voice of one of the young Ant Kids in "Ant Bully," the video game based on the box-office hit "The Ant Bully."
Thorne has appeared in more than 60 commercials worldwide and was the youngest ever spokesperson for Texas Instruments. She was also featured in hundreds of national and international print advertising campaigns and editorial fashion spreads.
Born October 8, 1997 in Pembroke Pines, Florida, Thorne is the youngest of four siblings, who are all actors. Thorne is an avid supporter of The Nomad Organization which provides education, food and medical supplies to children in Africa; the Humane Society and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Her interests include dancing, playing soccer, spending time with her family and playing with her two dogs (Cocker Spaniel and wolf-hybrid), six cats and a turtle.
Like their name suggests, IM5 is an exciting new musical act comprised of five very different boys sharing a love of entertaining. Brought together by showbiz vets Simon Fuller, Jamie King and Perez Hilton, IM5 has been a band for over a year now, undergoing intensive vocal and dance training. They are currently working on their debut album and fine-tuning their live performances…. Stay tuned!

Monarchs Iced Against Penguins
WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Manchester Monarchs dropped their first game after the AHL All-Star break, 4-1, to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza on Friday night.
Manchester (21-20-2-2) is tied with the Worcester Sharks (20-17-1-5) for third place in the Atlantic Division with 46 points each. The Penguins (22-18-2-1) are in third place in the East Division with 47 points.
“We played very solid hockey in the first period,” said Monarchs Head Coach Mark Morris. “Our execution was decent and we had some great opportunities. Zatkoff made some great saves and he was also fortunate on several goalmouth scrambles. Had we scored it might have given us a boost of confidence and changed the outcome. In the second period, we made some costly mistakes which ultimately put us in a deep hole and we were unable to recover from them. By the end of the game, we found our legs. It was too little too late. It’s back to the drawing board. It is time to regroup and refocus to take on Hershey.”
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton took a 2-0 lead with a goal by center Trevor Smith at 18:43 of the second period. Smith caused a turnover behind the Monarchs net and gained control of the puck before taking a backhand shot at the left doorstep. Smith’s shot produced a rebound. Smith grabbed his own rebound and lifted a wrist shot midway up on the stick of Monarchs goaltender Peter Mannino for the eventual game-winning goal and his 12th goal of the season.

Sailing Heritage "The Great Windship"
The Heritage is the newest coasting schooner carrying passengers along the Maine coast. It was designed and built by Captains Doug and Linda Lee at the historic North End Shipyard in Rockland. Sailing during the summer and working on the Heritage during the off-season, the project took a year of planning and four years of construction. The launching on April 16, 1983 was attended by thousands of people, including crews from all three national television networks.
Many details were incorporated into the design of the schooner specifically for the comfort of guests. Full headroom below decks eliminates the need to stoop while in one's cabin; stairs instead of ladders make it easier to go below; skylights allow sunlight to brighten below deck compartments, and a spacious galley accommodates all guests and crew during mealtime while serving as a comfortable retreat at other times.
Attention to tradition makes the new schooner Heritage an authentic Maine coasting schooner. When it's time to hoist the anchor and raise the sails, the authentic 1921 deck engine can be called into service. The distinctive sound sings out as the gaff inches its way up the mast, sails unfurling ready to catch the wind again.
The yawlboat provides power for the schooner when needed. With hand on the tiller, Linda manuevers it into position until it gently kisses the transom and nudges the schooner along. Guests aren't disturbed by the sound or fumes of a deisel engine and unless they're watching don't even realize that the yawlboat is at work. When the yawlboat is released from her stern davits, the beautifully carved gold leaf eagle and attractive name board adorning the schooner's transom proudly announce to all that the mighty Heritage retains the beauty of the historic vessels of yesteryear.

Ten Ways You Can Help Fight Modern Slavery
Today our nation celebrates National Freedom Day, which commemorates the day in 1865 when the 13th Amendment outlawing slavery was sent to the states for ratification. It is also the culmination of January as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.
Around the world, as many as 27 million people are still victimized in human trafficking, or modern slavery. This scourge occurs everywhere in the world -- including our own country. However, there is progress. Here in the United States, nearly every state has some form of anti-trafficking legislation -- and Wyoming is poised soon to become the last state to criminalize modern slavery. The passage of this bill, and others like it, is due in no small part to the work and advocacy of non-governmental organizations, victim service providers, legislators, and concerned citizens like you. As we celebrate the enduring promise of freedom embodied in the Emancipation Proclamation and our Constitution, I hope you will join the continuing struggle to end modern slavery and become a modern day abolitionist. Here are 10 ways you might get involved:
1. Learn the red flags that may indicate human trafficking and ask follow up questions so that you can help identify a potential trafficking victim. Human trafficking awareness training is available for individuals, businesses, first responders, law enforcement, and federal employees.

John Forbes Kerry Was Sworn In As The 68th Secretary of State
On February 1, 2013, John Forbes Kerry was sworn in as the 68th Secretary of State of the United States, becoming the first sitting Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman to become Secretary in over a century.
Secretary Kerry joined the State Department after 28 years in the United States Senate, the last four as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Secretary Kerry was born on December 11, 1943 at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, one of four children of the late Rosemary Forbes Kerry and Richard Kerry, a Foreign Service Officer.
Shortly before he graduated from Yale University, John Kerry enlisted to serve in the United States Navy, and went on to serve two tours of duty. He served in combat as a Swift Boat skipper patrolling the rivers of the Mekong Delta, returning home from Vietnam with a Silver Star, a Bronze Star with Combat V, and three Purple Hearts.
Back in the United States, Kerry began to forcefully speak out against the Vietnam War. Testifying at the invitation of Chairman J. William Fulbright before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he asked the poignant question, "How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?" He also began a lifelong fight for his fellow veterans as a co-founder of the Vietnam Veterans of America, and later as a United States Senator who fought to secure veterans’ benefits, extension of the G.I. Bill for Higher Education, and improved treatment for PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).
