NVU-Lyndon releases 2019-20 Women's Basketball Schedule

Lyndonville, VT - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon has released its 2019-2020 women's basketball schedule. The Hornets' 25 game schedule will include 14 home contests in Stannard Gymnasium.

The Hornets will open the season by hosting the second annual Northern Vermont University Tip-Off Classic on November 8th and 9th. Lyndon will face Fisher College and Rivier University in the tournament.  Game times are to be determined.

Pine Manor College will come to Stannard on November 13th to complete the three-game season
opening homestand,

Lyndon will go on the road for the first time when they travel to Anna Maria College on November 16th.  The following weekend the Hornets will play in-state rivals Castleton University and Norwich University at Barre Auditorium.

Lyndon opens North Atlantic Conference play with a road trip to Husson University and Maine Maritime Academy on the 7th and 8th.  A pair of non-conference home games against Colby-Sawyer College and Lasell College wrap up the fall semester.

The Horents will ring in 2020 with four consecutive home games.  The University of St. Joseph and SUNY Delhi come to Stannard for non-conference games before Lyndon gets back into NAC play by hosting the University of Maine at Farmington and Thomas College.on January 10th and 11th respectively.  The following weekend the Hornets will travel to Maine for rematches against the Beavers and the Terriers, this time playing Thomas first and UMaine-Farmington second.

Following the semester break, Lyndon will return to the hardwood with a pair of non-congerence games, at New England College on January 4th and home versus SUNY Delhi on January 7th.

The Hornets jump back into North Atlantic Conference play by facing the University of Maine at Farmington and Thomas College on back to back weekends. The Beavers and Terriers come to Stannard on January 10th and 11th respectively, and the Hornets travel to Maine the following weekend to face the same two schools in the opposite order.

The Hornets will host NVU-Johnson on January 25th. That game will serve as both a NAC contest and a NVU President's Cup matchup.

Following a non-conference tip-off at Plymouth State University, Lyndon travels to the University of Maine at Presque Isle for back to back games on January 31st and February 1st.

The Hornets will then enjoy a four game NAC homestand, hosting Husson and Maine Maritime on February 7th and 8th, before concluding the home portion of the schedule with back to back games against SUNY Canton the following weekend. The regular season concludes at NVU-Johnson on February 18th.

The top six finishers in the conference standings will qualify for the NAC championship tournament. Two quarterfinal games will be played on February 22nd, and the regular season champion will host the NAC final four the following weekend.

The Hornets are coming off of their most successful season as a member of the NAC and NCAA Division III.  Lyndon finished 14-12 for the second straight season in 2018-19.  The Hornets posted an 8-6 record in NAC play and advanced to the NAC semi-finals for the first time in program history.
