SNHU Men’s Golf Finishes Second at Quechee Division II Challenge

 Southern New Hampshire University – 595 (2nd/13) 
Freshman Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.) carded a 73 Tuesday to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team to a second-place finish at the Quechee Division II Challenge at the Quechee Golf Club.
Playing the Highland Course in the final round, the Penmen finished seven strokes behind Bentley University and were one shot better than Saint Thomas Aquinas College. 
Paradis equaled his 73 from the opening round to finish in a tie for sixth overall with a 2-over 146.
Sophomore Gavin Dugas (Pittsfield, Maine) shot a 75 to finish in a fourth-place tie with an even-par
144 following his round of 69 Monday. Junior Joshua LaCasse(Bow, N.H.) also totaled a 75 as he finished tied for seventh with a 151. 
Freshman Garret Olivar (Manchester, N.H.) rounded out the Penmen scorers as he placed 28th with a two-day score of 154 after shooting an 81 Tuesday.
Senior John Clancy (Sandwich, Mass.) tied for 30th overall with a 160 after carding an 83 Tuesday, but did not factor in the scoring. 
The Penmen also had six players compete as individuals, with sophomore Etienne Bourgoin (Abington, Mass.) putting together the best round. Burgoin penciled in a 75 to tie for 12th with a 149.
A day after firing an even-par 72, freshman Andrew Kane (Scarborough, Maine) tabulated an 80 for a two-day total of 152, which placed him 18th
Sophomore Austin Baker (Litchfield, N.H.) also shot an 80 and is tied for 58th with a 164. Junior Ben Scott (Lexington, Mass.) and.) placed 68th with an 87 Tuesday that gave him 170 for the event.
Freshman James Trainor (Hudson, Mass.) duplicated Monday's 94 to finish 77th with a 188, while sophomore Tyler Cole (Bow, N.H.) was forced to withdraw with four holes to go.
Notes:
- Wilmington (Del). University's Miguel Siercke and Bentley's Cal Meyers shared individual medalist honors as they both finished with 2-under 142s.
- Wilmington (Del.) and the SNHU "B" team competed as individuals and therefore do not factor into the team scoring.
-The Quechee Division II Challenge, hosted by SNHU, was comprised of 14 institutions and 78 student-athletes.

The Penmen return to action Oct. 2-3 at the Northeast-10 Championship, hosted by the College of Saint Rose at Olde Kinderhook Golf Club in Kinderhook, N.Y.
