The Big Green Defeated by Top-Ranked Hoyas

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Dartmouth fell to No. 1 Georgetown, Saturday afternoon by a score of 3-0. Junior forward David Alino led the team with three shots on goal in the loss.

It was the Big Green's second loss against an

opponent ranked in the top five this season.

The Hoyas struck early. Two quick goals put Dartmouth (0-5) at a 2-0 disadvantage just 12 minutes into the game. Those two goals were the only of the half and the Big Green continued to fight, rattling off four shots in the first 45 minutes of play.

Dartmouth held off the Hoyas to start the second half. They kept Georgetown (7-0) out of the back of the net until the 62nd minute when the Hoyas scored their third and final goal of the game to make the score 3-0. That score line held until the final whistle.

The Big Green battled hard and despite the 3-0 score, were able to put five shots on goal to Georgetown's four. Dartmouth has yet to play a home game and has battled strong non-conference opponents on the road through the first five games.

Dartmouth returns to the field Tuesday night, when they hit the road once again for a 7 p.m. start against Hartford.
