Attitash Mountain Resort Opening Tomorrow | Wildcat Mountain Adding Terrain

Bartlett, New Hampshire - Snowmakers at both Attitash Mountain Resort & Wildcat Mountain were back at it Wednesday evening and will continue to take advantage of every opportunity available to be burying trails and adding terrain as quickly as we can. We’re confident that winter will deliver its share of natural this season, but until that time arrives; our crews remain diligent and dedicated to making the ski season happen and setting us up for an expected busy holiday week leading us in to the New Year. Attached are two images showing snowmaking efforts this morning at both Attitash Mountain Resort (fan guns on

Thom Pollard (of Eyes Open Productions) and I also loaded the Tom Cat chair at 5 a.m. this morning to get a sense of what snowmaking is like at night and, despite it being work for snowmakers, the opportunity to view some rather spectacular sunrises and scenery in Pinkham Notch is a perk that never gets old. Hi-resolution raw “B-roll” footage from this morning is available for download here: www.eyesopenproductions.com/wildcat

Hotel reservations at the Attitash Grand Summit Hotel and ski school inquiries at both mountains continue to rise as anticipation mounts for the holidays and here’s what we are expecting for operations tomorrow and this weekend.

Attitash Mountain Resort

Though interrupted by the recent short thaw, snowmaking efforts that began Thanksgiving weekend will allow us to open both sides with Bear Peak offering top-to-bottom skiing/riding on Illusion via the Flying Bear Quad, with food service at the Bear Peak Cafeteria and bar only service at The Den. A shuttle service will be provided for access to and from our two base areas.

On the Attitash side, we will definitely be operating the Snowbelt for beginners and the Flying Yankee Quad with access to Moat. Though this week’s “spring-like” thaw delayed snowmaking efforts at the start of the week, last night and tonight’s snowmaking push is to have Grandstand and Thad’s Choice ready for tomorrow. This will be assessed prior to opening, so refer to the Snow Report tomorrow morning (http://www.attitash.com/snow-report.html) for the latest information. If we are able to open Thad’s Choice, we’ll operate the Summit Triple with top-to-bottom terrain on Upper Saco, Humphrey’s Ledge, Northwest Passage to Thad’s Choice.

Also, the Nor’Easter Mountain Coaster will be open for the weekend 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Wildcat Mountain

With the Cheetah trail expected to open next, snowmakers have begun and Middle Wildcat, Middle Catapult, and Cat Track next on their list with the hope that skiing and riding from the Tom Cat chair may be an option. For now however, intermediate skiing and riding remains to be from the Bobcat Chair and starting tomorrow, Friday will be a total of 3 trails & 1 lift. The Wildcat snow report will report the latest every morning (http://www.skiwildcat.com/snow-report.html).

With the early season terrain available at both Attitash & Wildcat, and lift tickets being valid for use at both, ticket rates starting tomorrow Friday, December 7 will be $49 adults, $39 young adults, & $29 juniors/seniors and will remain at this rate through the weekend and until further notice.
