DURHAM, N.H. – Head coach Marc Hubbard of
the University of New Hampshire men's soccer program announced
Wednesday the 2016 spring schedule. The slate features four games with
two at home.
Friday, April 1 at Boston University (7:30 p.m.)
The
Terriers are coming off a 12-6-2 record in 2015 and a 6-1-2 Patriot
League record. The team lost
in the semifinals of the conference
tournament, however earned an at large bid into the NCAA Tournament and
battled the University of Connecticut in the first round, falling 3-1.
Junior Felix De Bona led the Terriers on offense last season with nine
goals and two assists for 20 points.
Friday, April 8 vs. Harvard (7:30 p.m.)
The
Wildcats welcome Harvard University of the Ivy League for a match on
Friday, April 8 at home at 7:30 p.m. The Crimson are coming off a 9-6-2
mark in 2015 and a 5-2-0 conference record. Harvard outscored its
opponents by a margin of 27-19 last season and recorded six shutouts.
Sophomore Christian Sady is the top returner for Harvard as he posted
three goals and three assists for nine points.
Friday, April 15 vs. Southern New Hampshire (7 p.m.)
Southern
New Hampshire University comes to Wildcat Country on Friday, April 15
for a night tilt at 7 p.m. The Penmen are coming off a 19-1-1 record in
2016 in NCAA Division II play and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Third
Round where the team fell to LIU Post in penalty kicks. Hubbard won a
national title as head coach of the Penmen in 2013.
Saturday, April 23 at Boston College (5 p.m.)
The
spring campaign will come to a close with a match at ACC opponent
Boston College. The Eagles advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2015 and
posted a record of 11-8-2 overall and 4-4-0 in conference play. Rookie
Simon Enstrom led the Eagles on offense in 2015 with 22 points from nine
goals and four assists.
