The multi-building complex, located in the Ezulwini Township, will include a new chancery support facilities, and access controls. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2015.
The concept design architect is Karn Charuhas Chapman & Twohey (KCCT) of Washington, D.C. and the architect of record is Page Southerland Page of Arlington, Virginia.
The new facility is pursuing certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®), and
will include numerous sustainable features, including photovoltaics, light-emitting diode (LED) lighting, rainwater harvesting, wastewater reuse for irrigation, and solar hot water heating.
Since 1999, as part of the Department’s Capital Security Construction Program, OBO has completed 95 new diplomatic facilities and has an additional 39 projects in design or construction.
