MSL Celebrates Black History Month with Oscar Winning Documentary

Manchester, Vermont - Mark Skinner Library commemorates Black History Month by presenting Mighty Times: The Children’s March on Wednesday, February 13. The Academy Award winner, Best Documentary, Short Subjects will begin at 6:30 p.m.

On May 2, 1963, the children of Birmingham, Alabama took to the streets to challenge segregation. This testament to the fact that young people can make a difference is a production of Teaching Tolerance, a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center. The film runs 40 minutes and will be followed by discussion. It is appropriate for Grades 6 through adult. The program is free and open to the public.
