Dover, NH: Road closures, traffic restrictions in place Saturday for road race

Dover, New Hampshire - Dover Police Chief William Breault announces the following road closures for the 7th annual SMA 5K run/walk event on Saturday, April 13, 2019, part of the Dover Race Series. More information is available at http://saintmaryacademy.org/sma-5k/.

The event begins at 9 a.m. on Church Street. The course ends at the same location.

Road closures include:

  • Church Street, 8 to 11 a.m.
  • Locust Street, between Silver and Kirkland Streets, 9:10 to 10 a.m.
  • Locust Street, between Trakey Street and Central Avenue, 9 to 9:30 a.m.
  • Atkinson and Belknap streets, 9 to 10 a.m.
  • Fisher Street, 9 to 10 a.m.

Additional brief closures or traffic delays will be in effect in the downtown area near City Hall to accommodate the start of the race at 9 a.m. Drivers and residents will encounter delays on other streets along the course including Rutland, Elm, Belknap, Trakey, Summer, and Nelson streets between 9 and 10 a.m.

The course includes a portion of Dover's Community Trail between Fisher and Folsom streets.

Parking restrictions will be in effect on Church Street on Saturday until 11 a.m. Event participants may park in the municipal parking garage on Orchard Street or in any other downtown municipal lot.
