2008 Olympic gold medalist Johnson, DWTS partner Hough are special guests at Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions in Des Moines


Indianapolis, Indiana - Four-time 2008 Olympic-medalist Shawn Johnson of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Dancing with the Stars dance partner Derek Hough will be special guests at the Kellogg's® Tour of Gymnastics Champions on Oct. 12 at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. At the show, hometown hero Johnson and her DWTS dance partner will join in on the action with one of the show's many choreographed numbers.

"I am so proud of what our team did in London this past summer, and excited to be a part of their post-Olympic celebration in Des Moines," said Johnson, who won the DWTS Mirror Ball trophy in 2009. "Derek and I are so thankful for the support we are receiving on 'Dancing with the Stars' and excited to be involved in the Kellogg's Tour stop in my hometown. It is going to be a lot of fun."

Johnson, who won balance beam gold at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, has advanced to the third round of the DWTS all-star show with partner Hough. The Oct. 12 Des Moines show will be the duo's second appearance at the 2012 Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions.

Tickets for the Tour may be purchased through the venues hosting the Kellogg's Tour across the country. Ticket prices range from $25-$240 and vary by market and seat location. The star-studded cast of the Kellogg's Tour features: members of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team, which includes members of the women's 2012 Olympic gold-medal team (Gabrielle Douglas, Alexandra Raisman, Jordyn Wieber), Jake Dalton, Jonathan Horton, Steven Gluckstein, John Orozco, Savannah Vinsant and Julie Zetlin; 2008 Olympic all-around champion Nastia Liukin, and 2008 Olympic silver medalists Chellsie Memmel and Alicia Sacramone; and World medalists Kristin Allen, Rebecca Bross, Steven Legendre, Alex Naddour, Michael Rodrigues, Sabrina Vega and Brandon Wynn. Due to athletes' schedules and personal commitments, the cast will vary from stop to stop. 1996 Olympian John Macready and 2004 Olympian Mary Sanders are also part of the Kellogg's Tour. The cast of gymnastics champions will be joined by local gymnasts at each tour stop.

During the Kellogg's Tour, young fans can make their own great starts at the Kellogg's Fitness and Nutrition Zone at each of the 40 tour stops. The zone will feature activities which will help increase strength, flexibility and cardiovascular stamina. Kids can have fun and gain knowledge about the importance of fitness by participating in some of the same activities as their gymnastics idols.
