PROVIDENCE, R.I. – In its season
opener of the 2019 spring season, the Dartmouth sailing team raced in
the Sharpe Trophy hosted by Brown and finished third out of eight teams.
Seniors Christopher Williford, Alyssa Berger and Rebecca McElvain along with juniors Max Clapp, Timothy Greenhouse and Eloise Burn and freshmen Aisling Sullivan and Cole Harris competed for the Big Green.
Dartmouth came ahead of Tufts, Yale, Rhode Island, MIT and Harvard for
the third-place finish. Brown, who was hosting the race finished first,
while Bowdoin was in second place.
The Big Green do not compete for two more weeks when they have three
races scheduled on Mar. 23-24. Those races are the Eagle Team Race
hosted by Boston College, the Friis Trophy at Roger Williams and the
Admiral Moore Team Race at SUNY Maritime.
