Hot Brown Honey turns up the heat, delivering lashings of sass and a hot pinch of empowerment in the smash-hit that has taken the world by storm. Packing a punch of hip hop politics, the Honeys make audiences laugh, cry, clap, and buzz. This stellar posse of phenomenal women make noise as they defiantly smash stereotypes and remix the system. Fighting the power never tasted so sweet.
Produced by the internationally renowned Briefs Factory, Hot Brown Honey features a bevy of powerful and talented First Nations women from Aboriginal Australian, Samoan, Tongan, Māori, Indonesian and South African backgrounds who are dead set on calling out the patriarchy, shattering preconceptions of colour and having a riotous time doing it. This neo-burlesque collective perform a full throttle show accompanied by a pounding soundtrack spun by Queen Bee Busty Beatz, from atop her glowing hive.
Director Lisa Fa’alafi says: "It’s plain knowledge that there are limited platforms in the arts for people of colour, let alone women of colour. So we made our own platform, to tell our stories, to create a space where we stand centre stage. We really do believe ‘You cannot be what you cannot see’, so we are just doing it; we are putting more brown faces on stage and in the process shining a light on all the talented Hot Brown Honeys around Australia doing amazing work. Because let’s be honest, there are plenty of women out there they just need to see the pathways where they too can shine.”

Tickets for this performance start at $15. Tickets are available in person at the FlynnTix Regional Box Office window at 153 Main Street, Burlington; by calling 802-86-FLYNN / 802- 863-5966, voice/relay calls welcome; or on-line through the Flynn web site at www.flynncenter.org. Children 17 and under and students with ID save $4 off the top two ticket prices. Flynn members at the Contributor level and above save 10% and groups of 15 or more save 15%. Box Office hours are Monday-Friday, 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday, 11 am to 4 pm, and on show days from opening until the time of the show.
