ANNANDALE, N.Y. – Southern Vermont College was topped 23-2 Saturday afternoon as Bard College claimed a non-conference women's lacrosse win at Ferrari Field.

The Raptors put home what ended up being the winning goal at the 26:09 mark, and they went on to lead 15-0 at halftime. SVC was able to pot its first two goals of the year in the second period, but that wouldn't be enough for the Mountaineers to get back into it.

Southern Vermont (0-2) is next in action on Monday, yesterday, with the team visiting SUNY Purchase for a 4 p.m. first draw.

Freshman Marisa Moy (Framingham, Mass.) posted her first collegiate goal while adding two draw controls and a caused turnover to her line. Senior Aubrey Vierstra (Saugerties, N.Y.) sent home her first goal of the year, and sophomore Alex Safford (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) put up three draw controls, two ground balls, and a caused turnover.

SVC senior keeper Sydnee Julian (Mexico, N.Y.) made 12 saves in the loss (0-2).

Bard notched six goals in the first 10 minutes of play, and the hosts never looked back. After going into the break down 15-0, Southern Vermont tallied its first two goals of the year as Moy beat the BC goalie before Vierstra sent home her first of the season. Bard would get those two goals right back, however, as the Raptors closed out the win.
