Green Mountain opened up its offense in the game as witnessed by the team's collective 42 shots while continuing to play good defense, holding the Badgers to just 24 shots. The Eagles held a firm advantage on the draw, controlling 16 compared to just six for the Badgers with Martha Howe and Scully each recording four.
Green Mountain (5-6, 4-2 NAC) continued its recent trend of allowing the opposition to score first
before stringing a series of goals together to open the game.
Johnson (1-9, 1-6 NAC) got on the board first with a goal from NAC leading scorer Nicole Weeks on an unassisted effort just over thirty seconds into the contest.
The Eagles stormed right back with three unanswered goals, a pair of markers by Brewster bookended a solo goal from Rachel Aramburu, her ninth of the season.
A goal from the Badgers' Shannon Rooney brought the hosts to within one as she scored the last goal of the half at the 4:20 mark to send the game into the break with the visitors on top by a slim 3-2 margin.
Johnson's Olivia Terrazzano knotted the score at 3-3 just less than a minute into the second stanza to knot the game at 3-3 with her 15th of the year.
Brewster and Terrazzano traded goals to again tie the game at 4-4 with 23:58 remaining.
The Eagles would take the lead on an unassisted effort by Scully at the 23:34 mark and it would give the visitors a lead they would not relinquish as following Scully's 24th goal of the year, Katie Legnard and Brewster would each score while the Eagles were up after a yellow card was issued to a Johnson player.
The visitors would use that momentum to score three more times and take a commanding 10-4 lead.
Weeks would end the Eagles' run of six-straight goals at the 15:15 mark by depositing her 40th goal of the season past GMC's Chelsea Wimble.
Following that goal, Wimble clamped down and made several key saves down the stretch for the Eagles including a pair of saves coming off free position shots to help preserve the win.
Scully and Brianna Alimonti would score for the Eagles, Alimonti with her first career goal, while Rooney potted her 16th and 17th goals of the season and Weeks added another to close out the scoring.
Wimble made 10 saves to pick up her fifth win of the season, while Kaitlin Boucher made an impressive 17 saves in the loss.
GMC will host Husson on Saturday at 1 p.m in its next game, while Johnson will travel to Castleton to play the Spartans on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
