- UMass Dartmouth: 23-12, 6-4 LEC
Up Next
- Keene State is slated to host UMass Boston in an LEC twinbill that could have ramifications toward the No. 1 seed in the LEC tournament. The Beacons come to town on Tuesday, April 26, at 3:30 p.m.
- The Corsairs welcome Eastern Connecticut State for an LEC doubleheader on April 26, also beginning at 3:30 p.m.
- Crisp limited the Corsairs to doubles in the third and sixth innings as the Owls won their eighth straight LEC game. The senior set down the first eight batters she faced, seven of the via strikeout, before allowing a single run in the third.
- Olivia Indorf and Brittany DaMota each had a pair of hits to lead the Owl offense.
- Keene State had grabbed both runs in the top of the second. Jen Galavotti doubled down the left field line to start the inning, and moved over to third on Indorf's groundout.
- Shae Crosby tripled in Galavotti, then scored herself on DaMota's triple to right-center.
- That would be all Crisp would need, as she allowed one runner in scoring position in the final four innings, and ended the game by getting Briana Flaherty to foul out to third base.
How It Happened - Game Two
- The Owls led 3-0 in the seventh inning, but allowed three runs to come across in the bottom half, and the winning run two innings later for just their second LEC loss of the year. Both LEC defeats have come in extra innings.
- Kayla Votto had two hits and drove in two runs. Five other players notched a hit for KSC. Crisp went the distance in this one as well, recording seven more strikouts.
- DaMota drew a leadoff walk in the top of the fifth, and moved over on Stephanie Long's sacrifice bunt. Votto singled to center for a 1-0 lead, then came around herself on Morgan Fallon's single up the middle.
- The Owls added another in the top of the seventh when Long singled through the right side with one out, stole second, and came around on Votto's RBI hit to right-center.
- UMass Dartmouth forced extras with a two out rally in the bottom of the seventh inning. Flaherty reached on an error, and pinch runner Adi Alicea-Cordero scored on Rachel Carey's double to right.
- A triple off the bat of Maddie O'Gryzek and a single from Emily Colton tied the game.
- In the bottom of the ninth, Rachel Carey reached on a bunt, single, and Grace Trudeau provided the winning run with a single to right field.
