How It Happened - Game One
  • Amherst scored three times in the third inning and six times in the fourth to pull away.  Morgan Fallon had given Keene State a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second with a solo homer to left-center to lead off the inning, but Amherst got an RBI double from Brianna Cook and a bunt single from Alexa Marovitz that brought in two more.
  • Kristin Boduch singled and scored on an Amherst error to make it 3-2, but Amherst sent 11 batters to the plate in the fourth, scoring six runs.  Mariovitz, who had three doubles on the day, cleared the bases with a double to left center.
  • Jen Galavotti hit her fifth homerun in the fifth inning to pull the Owls within 9-3.  Amherst added three more runs in the fifth and KSC could not score in the bottom half of the inning as the game ended via run rule.

How It Happened - Game Two
  • Mariah Crisp struck out seven and allowed three hits as KSC came back to earn the split.  The game was a true pitcher's duel, as Amherst's Lorena Ukwana allowed only four hits to the Owls.
  • Amherst got a double in the top of the first from Julia Turner, but would not get another runner to second base until the sixth inning, when Sammy Salustri singled and moved into scoring position on Turner's sacrifice bunt.  Crisp struck out Kyra Naftel and got Brianna Cook to pop out to end the threat.
  • Keene State went ahead in the bottom half of the inning when Kayla Votto hit a leadoff single and stole second base.  After Heather Pelletier flew out to center, Fallon singled up the middle for the first run of the game.
  • Crisp then ended the game by getting Marovitz to fly out to right field, and struck out Lauren Tuiskula before Buck popped up to first base.
