No. 54 Big Green Take Down the No. 72 Bears, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 54 Dartmouth women’s tennis defeated No. 72 Brown, 5-2, at the Brown Varsity Tennis Courts on Friday. The Big Green improved to 11-6 overall and 2-3 in Ivy League play, while the Bears fell to 13-10 and 1-4 in conference action. 

Dartmouth won the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead over Brown. At No. 2, senior Katherine Yau and sophomore Julia Schroeder had a 6-1 victory over Hannah Camhi and Katie Ta, while junior Jacqueline and sophomore Lexxi Kiven defeated Maddie Stearns and Ammu Mandalap by a score of 6-3 at No. 3. 

Yau and Crawford got two more points on the board with their victories at the No. 2 and 4 positions, and a three-set win by junior Taylor Ng at No. 1 clinched the match and made it 4-0 in favor of the Green. The Bears won at the No. 5 and 6 positions and sophomore Kristina Mathis added a three-set win of her own to close out the match.

On Sunday, Dartmouth will take on No. 69 Yale at the Boss Tennis Center.
