Granata Leads the Way as Pilgrims Sail Past Green Mountain

Henniker, N.H. –  New England College women's lacrosse midfielder Allison Granata netted seven goals and dished out four assists lifting the Pilgrims past the visiting Green Mountain College Eagles 18-5 Wednesday night.

With the win the Pilgrims improve to 5-6 overall and 3-1 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play. The loss drops the Eagles to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in the NAC.

PILGRIM LEADERS

In addition to Granata the Pilgrims were led by Gabriella Bigos who score three goals and had an assist and Elizabeth Bois who netted three goals.  Alan Scott finished with two goals and an assist, while Kasondra Moniz had a goal and an assist.

Bigos finished the game with seven draw controls, while Caroline Mols scooped up four ground
balls.

EAGLE LEADERS

Megan Scully led the way scoring two goals and registering and assist.  Caite Brewster scored a goal and won four draw controls, while Mariah Palmer led the Eagles with three ground balls.

FINAL COMPARISON

NEC finished the game out shooting Green Mountain 34-10 and held the 20-10 advantage in ground balls and the 15-10 advantage in draw controls.

The Pilgrims were 14-of-14 in clear attempts, while the Eagles were 9-of-16.

GOALTENDING

Picking up the win in net for NEC was Mackenzie Meegan who finished with three saves

Green Mountain goalie Chelsea Wimble notched nine saves.

WHAT'S NEXT

New England College will return to action Sunday, April 10 when they host non-conference opponent Southern Vermont College.

Green Mountain College will hit the field again on Saturday, April 9 when they host conference foe University of Maine Farmington.
